ENROLLMENT INFORMATION FOR TRANSFER STUDENTS

Because the purpose of the Muir College Writing Requirement is to prepare students for university writing, Muir College students are required to complete this requirement before upper-division course work is attempted; to this end, enrollment priority is given to first- and second-year students who have earned 90 units or fewer. All students with more than 90 units are blocked from enrolling via WebReg.

• As an incoming Muir College transfer student you have likely already earned 90 units. If you are a TAG or IGETC student, the most expedient way for you to complete your writing requirement is to enroll in MCWP 125 or MCWP 50 during orientation. We strongly urge you to do so!
• IF YOU DO NOT ENROLL IN MCWP 125 OR MCWP 50 DURING ORIENTATION, YOU MUST CONTACT THE MUIR WRITING PROGRAM OFFICE FOR CLEARANCE TO REGISTER THROUGH WEBREG.
• Non-TAG and non-IGETC students should speak with a Muir Academic Advisor.
• Transfer students must complete their writing requirement(s) within their first three quarters of residency at UCSD.
