Even though there are always many activities and events happening on campus, sometimes we know that you just have to get away...but what are you going to do, and more importantly, how will you get there? These pages aim to provide ideas for a wide range of activities, and some transportation alternatives when you don't have a car.
Beaches

Tourist Attractions
Tourist Attractions to see while you are in San Diego. Take the time to explore your new surroundings - or use these as ideas for places to go when parents visit!- San Diego Wild Animal Park is located about half an hour northeast of the Muir Campus.
- San Diego Zoo is about 20 minutes south east of the Muir Campus.
- Sea World is about 10 minutes south of the Muir Campus.
- Legoland California is located about half an hour north of the Muir Campus.
- The Gaslamp Quarter is in downtown San Diego. A list of restaurants and highlights of San Diego's historic Gaslamp Quarter.
- Seaport Village is a cute tourist attraction by the airport and downtown. Great as a first stop after picking parents up at the airport, or as a time filler between other activities.
- Balboa Park has a huge variety of museums, gardens and other attractions. Check out their website for free museums on Tuesdays, and a list of when certain attractions occur.
- Birch Aquarium at Scripps. Located walking distance of Muir Campus.
- The Maritime Museum features a collection of historic ships such as the Star of India the world's oldest active ship.

- Torrey Pines Gliderport Learn to paraglide or hang glide. Watch others. Across the street from campus.
- San Diego County Fair runs mid-June and to early July at the Del Mar Fairgrounds.
